Lovestruck is a short and sweet novella told from Cal’s POV – a novella which takes us right where his obsession with Ariana has begun, before they’re being matched for ‘The Calling’. We all know by now that his dad works in the military, but what we didn’t know thus far was that he used to snoop into his dad’s files and discover things that outraged him big time.
“I fell in love with her suddenly, deeply, in the most all-consuming way.”
He’s so in love with her but as we all know she’s ignoring his very presence very easily, no matter what he tries to do to catch her attention, to tell her how he feels is so over his head that he isn’t even be able to formulate a coherent speech when they’re facing each in NSAFTA everyday.
Like every other teenager he used to be going out with girls quite a lot, but ever since lying his eyes on Ariana Skyee, he decided that it’s time to be a-one-guy-girl only. Ah, and then there’s that lifetime friendship between him and Ben. A friendship that looks more like a brotherly one – at least, to me – they’re inseparable just like a pair of twins.
While I’ve been having some doubts regarding his love toward Ariana in the beginning, now it all gets clearer and clearer that his love-slash-obssesion is really genuine and that he’s head-over-heels for her.
