How Many Museums Can You Actually Fit In One Night !?

Obviously not as many as you’d like to, but anyhow, you get to see those Museums you wished you had visited as a kid – or actually, you did that, but back then, you weren’t paying any attention to what the guide was saying, because you were admiring the exhibits.

As a kid, I used to go out with my Dad and wander the city a lot. Especially the Museums – and there are lots of them in Bucharest -, each of them with its own unique architecture. I have to admit that I kind of had of dropped down from that, either because I was busy with school or work and I feel sorry for that. But there is no such thing as too late to visit a Museum.

Last weekend, we had the Museums Night an event that reached its second edition – and this year it took place not just in Bucharest, but also across the country. With almost 30 Museums participating, it is hard to see them all in just one night. I’ve had to pick a few that could actually fit in the time schedule, which was from 16:00 to 02-03:00 AM and yes, the entry was free.   I literally had to drag my Dad out of that 4 by 4 apartment box  he lives in. My Dad is a really hard to convince kind of person , but eventually he cracks open and you get it your own way.

First off we have a picture from the George Enescu National Museum and I have to say that this was my very first time visiting it. I really loved the time spent there and I really recommend that you visit it if you ever come to Romania. It’s totally worth it !

Next on my list has been the most visited Museum as a child, that is The National Museum of Natural History “Grigore Antipa”. I don’t know why, but I truly love this Museum – quite a lot, actually.

I remember the first time I’ve been in The National Museum of Romanian History like it was just yesterday.

After these Museums, I have decided to change the note a bit, so I took my Dad – instead of him taking me – to see The National Museum of Contemporary Art . I haven’t seen this one, so it was mandatory that I would go and see it.

Here we have Vincent LeRoy’s Boreal Halo.

Another newness on the Museums list – at least on mine – was The National Museum of Geology

Here, we also had a little concert.

These were all the Museums I had visited this weekend, and though they’re in a small number, next year I plan to visit twice as many. It has been a great weekend and I would totally love to do it again. Don’t forget ! If you are ever planning on visiting Romania, May 16th is reserved to visit Museums.

About Cristina

I started this blog for quite a few reasons: 1. To share my opinions about books I read. (I'm open to recommendations) 2. To express myself in the only way that I love, which is of course writing 3. To connect with people with whom I may share the same interests I read and write because it offers me an escape door from the world we live in. A door which allows me to be whomever I want to be, live wherever in this big world, set off on adventures and most of all because it brings my imagination back to life from its very very long sleep. And of course...Because I love to !! Here are some basic things about your host and writer.. My name is Cristina and I come from Bucharest ( also known as The Little Paris ) were I was born, raised and am currently - still - living. I’ve finished my studies a few years ago and got my bachelor degree at Dimitrie Cantemir University, in my hometown; in Economics. I have to admit that this specialty wasn't my first choice. I have been weighing my choices – as in, to what they can provide me in future – both while I was still in high school and after. Initially I wanted to go to Foreign Languages, but I had a big fall the moment I saw that it wasn't acredited – huge disappointment washed over me. I am still a bit disappointed about that to be honest. I have a huge passion for writing ever since I was little, and even if I had times when I didn't (or couldn't) write anything, now I am right back on track. My dad is the only one who knows how much passion I put into what I write and doesn't giggle or grin when I bring it up. I love having someone’s support no matter how little it is,it still means so much to me. Love, Cris ♥ Hope that those who will follow me like what I post around here and - why not - maybe give some ideas about new topics. :) If anyone wants to add something on the blog please contact me at
