20 Most Memorable Betty White Quotes

Along with always making us laugh — whether as Sue Ann Nivens, the catty thorn in Mary Tyler Moore’s side, or as dizzy Rose Nylund from Saint Olaf — White has always been a great role model for a new kind of aging. Instead of coasting on her well-earned laurels (she’s been in the business for more than 70 years), the “Golden Girl” shows no signs of slowing down, reinvigorating her career in the early aughts in a number of movies and television shows and bringing laughter to a new generation of fans.

Her good sense of humor must be a key to her longevity, are shown in her most memorable quotes.

1. “Why do people say ‘grow some balls’? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding.”

2. “You don’t luck into integrity. You work at it.”

3. “All creatures must learn to coexist. That’s why the brown bear and the field mouse can share their lives in harmony. Of course, they can’t mate or the mice would explode.”

4. “Keep the other person’s well being in mind when you feel an attack of soul-purging truth coming on.”

5. “I think we’re losing our sense of humor instead of being able to relax and laugh at ourselves. I don’t care whether it’s ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, or whose ox is being gored.”

6. “Avoid tweeting any photos of your private parts.”

7. “You gotta use everything you possibly can!”

8. “Retirement is not in my vocabulary. They aren’t going to get rid of me that way.”

9. “Animals don’t lie. Animals don’t criticize. If animals have moody days, they handle them better than humans do.”

10.  “I didn’t know what Facebook was, and now that I do know what it is, I have to say, it sounds like a huge waste of time.”

11.  “I think it’s your mental attitude. So many of us start dreading age in high school and that’s a waste of a lovely life. ‘Oh… I’m 30, oh, I’m 40, oh, 50.’ Make the most of it.”

12.  “It’s your outlook on life that counts. If you take yourself lightly and don’t take yourself too seriously, pretty soon you can find the humor in our everyday lives. And sometimes it can be a lifesaver.”

13.  “Don’t try to be young. Just open your mind. Stay interested in stuff. There are so many things I won’t live long enough to find out about, but I’m still curious about them. You know people who are already saying, ‘I’m going to be 30 – oh, what am I going to do?’ Well, use that decade! Use them all !”

14. “I just make it my business to get along with people so I can have fun. It’s that simple.”

15 “The writers are the stars of every really successful sitcom.”

16.  “I don’t know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your affairs, and don’t worry about other people so much.”

17.  “I like bawdy humor. I love bawdy humor, but not dirty humor.”

18.  “A lady likes to be complimented on her looks, her eyes, her figure. But the personality comments are much appreciated.”

19.  “Animal lover that I am, a cougar I am not.”

20. “Wilderness is harder and harder to find these days on this beautiful planet, and we’re abusing our planet to the point of almost no return.”

About Cristina

I started this blog for quite a few reasons: 1. To share my opinions about books I read. (I'm open to recommendations) 2. To express myself in the only way that I love, which is of course writing 3. To connect with people with whom I may share the same interests I read and write because it offers me an escape door from the world we live in. A door which allows me to be whomever I want to be, live wherever in this big world, set off on adventures and most of all because it brings my imagination back to life from its very very long sleep. And of course...Because I love to !! Here are some basic things about your host and writer.. My name is Cristina and I come from Bucharest ( also known as The Little Paris ) were I was born, raised and am currently - still - living. I’ve finished my studies a few years ago and got my bachelor degree at Dimitrie Cantemir University, in my hometown; in Economics. I have to admit that this specialty wasn't my first choice. I have been weighing my choices – as in, to what they can provide me in future – both while I was still in high school and after. Initially I wanted to go to Foreign Languages, but I had a big fall the moment I saw that it wasn't acredited – huge disappointment washed over me. I am still a bit disappointed about that to be honest. I have a huge passion for writing ever since I was little, and even if I had times when I didn't (or couldn't) write anything, now I am right back on track. My dad is the only one who knows how much passion I put into what I write and doesn't giggle or grin when I bring it up. I love having someone’s support no matter how little it is,it still means so much to me. Love, Cris ♥ Hope that those who will follow me like what I post around here and - why not - maybe give some ideas about new topics. :) If anyone wants to add something on the blog please contact me at cristinacryss0@gmail.com
