Book Review: Yes Please by Amy Poehler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I LOVE THIS BOOK
An Amy Poehler book ?? Yes,Please !!!
I sooo love Amy,she’s awesome !!
This is not the average memoir we were all used to read and it’s totally not a comedy book. It’s what I like to call “a funny memoir” , but a funny memoir whit tiny bits of touching parts here and there. It has a very powerful message in it and it’s not that hard to spot it out.
They say that you learn from other people’s mistakes. For some of us that’s true, while for others…well, not really. Anyway, the thing is that her book is written in a very awesome way, it’s very sincere, you can actually feel that it wasn’t written as if someone had a gun pointed at her. She says things straight as they are, in her funny way. That’s exactly what I love about her.
Besides telling us about her personal life and how she started her career as a comedian, she is also pointing out issues of today’s people.
What she’s trying to outline the most is that WE SHOULD BE OURSELVES,LOVE OURSELVES FOR HOW/WHO/WHAT WE ARE REGARDLESS OF WHAT SOCIETY WANTS US TO BE LIKE.
You can read this book whenever you’re sad, lonely or in desperate need of a laugh – but no one feels like wanting to make it happen, cause they just wanna see your little grumpy face.
Way to go,girl !
